Get a Clue!

What starts as an interesting night out heads down quickly when the host, Mr. Boddy, ends up dead.

The question on everyone’s mind: Who killed Mr. Boddy?

Enter the suspects.

  • An attractive but shrewd vixen clad in red
  • A pompous military man in yellow
  • A manipulative and sexy socialite with an affinity for blue
  • An astute intellect dressed in the scheme of a plum
  • A slick conman who loves everything green
  • A fun-loving cockney maid with hair white as snow

Join the suspects as the scramble to find the killer and clear their names. There are clues everywhere you turn, but can you figure out whodunnit? It’s a murder mystery that will keep you guessing until the final moment!

It’s time to round up our suspects in one of the most interesting murder cases on stage. Think you have what it takes?
Marshfield Community Theatre is now casting its production of Clue On Stage, based on the well-known board game and cult-classic film. We’re looking to cast up to 15 performers from age 16 and up.

The audition will consist of cold reading from the show and some improv exercises.

If needed, there will be a callback list posted on Wednesday, July 24, with callbacks on Thursday, July 25 at 6:30 p.m. Show dates are tentatively set for Sept. 20, 21, 22, 27 and 28.

Please bring with you:

  • A conflict calendar/activity schedule for July 27-Sept. 29
  • A headshot to be kept with your audition form
  • Clothing you can comfortably move in, with closed-toe shoes
  • A willingness to step outside of the box and try new things

Character Descriptions

A traditional British butler in every sense: uptight, formal and “by the book.” He is the driving force in the play.

A sexy, French Maid, with her own secret aspirations. (Also plays THE REPORTER in the final scene).

A dry, sardonic D.C. Madam who is more interested in secrets than sex.

The church-going wife of a Senator. A bit batty, neurotic, and quick to hysteria.

A pale, morbid, and tragic woman. Mrs. White may or may not be the murderer of her five ex-husbands.

A puffy, pompous, dense, blow-hard of a military man.

An academic Casanova who woos women with his big … brain.

A timid, yet officious, rule follower. He’s a bit of a klutz and awfully anxious.

MR. BODDY – A mobster type fella. A dark cloud follows this guy wherever he goes.
THE COOK – A threatening presence.
THE MOTORIST – A benign gentleman who rings the wrong doorbell.
AGENTS – An FBI agent who helps to save the day.
THE COP — A “Regular Joe.”
AUXILIARY SCARLET – The back of Miss Scarlet during a scene of theatrical trickery.
AUXILIARY WADSWORTH – Wadsworth during two scenes of theatrical trickery.
