Marshfield Community Theatre’s Education Department is thrilled to provide weekly classes for youth and adults.
Tuition: $100/$80 for members

Become a member of MCT and get discounted tuition for education classes! Annual memberships start at just $5 for youth under 18 and come with many benefits, including priority seating at our shows and exclusive MCT merchandise.
Scholarships are available
We want to make sure that theatre education is available to everyone, so we have a limited amount of scholarships available for our education classes. These scholarships can help with tuition costs, class supplies — such as tap shoes and sheet music — and more. Whatever your need may be, we encourage you to submit your scholarship request using our online form.
4:00-4:45 PM – Audition Preparation
Course Description: In this course, teens and adults will learn tips and tricks to confidently rock their next audition, whether that be for MCT, their school, or college. We will also learn how to draft a professional resume and what your headshot should look like.
5:00-5:45 PM – Script Analysis
Course Description: Students will learn how to break down a script to further understand its meaning, character motivations, the playwright’s intent, and more.
5:00-5:45 PM – Broadway Babies
Course Description: Designed for ages 4-8, Broadway Babies explores the world of theatre with fun theatre games and craft projects. Students will learn a song and a poem to perform for their families at the end of the last class of the session!
4:00-4:45 PM – Theatre Production
Course Description: Study the basic elements to get a production on its feet. Working with budgets, how to effectively manage timelines, and tips for delegating with team members will be emphasized.
5:00-6:30 PM – Social Media for Musical Theatre
Course Description: Throughout this course, students will get both lecture-based and hands-on learning on creating a solid social media strategy for performance-based organizations. Classes will include an introduction to different social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter, TikTok, and more – understanding what each platform is capable of, what they are used for and how to create communities for each. Students will also learn about the basics of search engine optimization, blog writing, basic website management through content management systems. From there, students will get hands-on experience creating and managing content for MCT’s digital media platforms.
4:00-4:45 PM – Youth Acting
Ages: 9-12 years old
Course Description: In this class, students will learn basic acting techniques and terminology through theater games and projects.
5:00-5:45 PM – Teen Acting
Ages: 13-18 years old
Course Description: This class will focus on character and script analysis through cold readings and monologues.
