Frozen, Jr. Canceled
With the world changing every day, our team has been monitoring the status of COVID-19 in our community. Under new ordinance recommendations given by Marshfield City leadership, they are advising there are no group meetings over 50 people.
It is with the heaviest of hearts that the production team for Marshfield Community Theatre’s show of Disney’s Frozen Jr. has made the toughest of decisions. For the safety of cast, crew, families and community, our team has decided to cancel this show.
Frozen, Jr. was ready to take the stage in March. Our tech team was ready with new tricks, the set had just needed some final touches, the costume team did a great job to be ready to fit them perfectly, props were ready and licensing fees were paid. Then, we had to postpone.
Our summer show — Mamma Mia! and our fall show of Hands on a Hardbody have also been postponed due to uncertainty around COVID-19.
All of this means a big hit for our bottom line. As a not-for-profit theatre troupe, we do what we can to raise funds to continue providing performance opportunities for our amazing community. MCT is a place to express creativity and promote the fine and performing arts. This is a hard time for all of us and MCT is feeling the pressure of these times. We all have needs, and for some, it can be hard to meet those needs during these trying times. We understand, and we feel that as well.
With that said, if you would consider donating your ticket purchases at this time, it will be greatly appreciated. MCT is a 501(c)(3) organization, so any donations, including donating back the cost of your tickets, would be considered tax-deductible.
