Marshfield Community Theatre Welcomes Audiences to Holly Jolly Holiday Weekend

A Weekend of Holiday Fun for the Whole Family at the Jubilee Theater Center

Marshfield, MO (December 2024)—Celebrate the magic of the holiday season with Marshfield Community Theatre’s Holly Jolly Holiday Weekend, four days of festive entertainment, heartwarming performances, and family-friendly fun. From Dec. 12-15, MCT will make the Jubilee Theater Center a place of holiday cheer, featuring nightly events that showcase local talent, embrace community, and bring the spirit of the season to life.

Each evening will begin with a 30-minute performance of A Charlie Brown Christmas, the beloved holiday classic that captures the true meaning of Christmas. The show is an almost exact replica of the classic animated short, following Charlie Brown’s search to learn what Christmas is all about.

Kelby Lorenz, MCT’s Marketing Chair, was excited to bring the character of Charlie Brown back after playing him in MCT’s 2022 production of You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown.

“Charlie Brown is easily one of my favorite characters I’ve gotten to take on over the years,” he said. “And in this show, it’s been great to bring him back to life and try new ways of approaching both his overall down-in-the-dumps demeanor against the joy he has when his friends help him discover what Christmas is all about.”

In addition to A Charlie Brown Christmas each night, there will be four different fundraising events to round out each evening. This is something new for MCT, but it’s a way to really highlight the holiday spirit and provide something for everyone this weekend, according to the director of A Charlie Brown Christmas and MCT’s Development Chair, Toni Lorenz.

“We wanted to create an event that truly embodies the spirit of the holidays—community, generosity, and joy,” said Toni Lorenz, director of A Charlie Brown Christmas and MCT’s Development Chair. “By offering a variety of activities and performances each night, we’re not only celebrating the season but also bringing people together to support the arts and our theatre’s future.”
